About Me

With 28 years in IT and 25 years of experience with Navision, I have worked extensively with versions from 1.30 to Dynamics NAV 2018/BC24. My roles have primarily been as a developer, with consulting work. I have led teams, mentored junior staff, and delivered courses on Modern Dev (AL Code). Recently, I have focused on integration with API calls. I am a certified trainer and have completed my MB-800 certification. My experience spans solo and team projects, from small-scale to those lasting over two years. I thrive on solving problems and finding optimal solutions.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision):   

Worked with Navision for 24 years, using version 1.30 all the way to Dynamics NAV 2018/BC, mostly as developer and sometimes as a consultant. I have been a team lead at Astral. I trained two juniors when I was running my own company. I am excellent at upgrades. Completed quite a few integrations between NAV and legacy / third party systems where we pull or push master data or transactional data. Provided end user training on System Administration and custom modules, also Introduction training to Nav2013 R2. Worked with Nav2018, converted an existing time sheet solution to an app for Nav2018. Attended a classroom course to learn about Extensions and VS Code at Microsoft offices. Mentored junior developers.

Completed exams for MCSA Dynamics 365. Gave a course on Modern Dev (AL Code, Extensions/Apps).

Attended DevOps for AL Development Online Course by Eric Wouters in June 2020.

For 2.5 years, I have been contracting at a major reseller, working on one of their biggest re-implementations from 2009 to BC with over 850 files in the project, including integration to BC from 3rd party using APIs to create Purchase Orders. Working on a multi country implementation with a global app and multiple local apps depending on each region’s requirements.

Latest 2024: developed on v24 of BC, an integration to 3PL to ship orders coming in from Amazon. We create Sales and Transfer orders in the 3PL, then retrieve the status and automatically ship, invoice or receive the documents in business central (123 files in the project).

Visual Studio: Mainly for report writing in NAV. Wrote a small .Net app used in NAV for web services, VB6 development.

SQL:  SQL6.5 to 2019. Installation, configuration and maintenance of SSRS Reports, SQL Queries

Business Intelligence: Jet Reports (development and training end users); Power BI (development and training end users)

Operating Systems: Window 3.11 to Win 11, to Server 2019. Network administration.
